Yes, Everyone Can Play

Old Playground EquipmentEnvisioned and propelled on the grassroots level by many concerned parents, the “YES, EVERYONE CAN PLAY” project was created. The project’s initial goal was to remove an antiquated and unsafe playground system at the Phillips County Homesteaders' Park, which is part of the Phillips County Fairground complex, with a universally accessible playground.

The vision grew to include an all-weather turf field, a frisbee disc golf course and improvements to the parking lot and expanding and improving the current walking paths.

The project has been made possible by grants from:

  • The Great Colorado Outdoors
  • Heginbotham Trust
  • El Pomar Foundation
  • The Daniels Fund
  • Pioneer Seeds
  • Waste Tire
  • CDOT Enhancement funds, and
  • Monetary and in-kind donations from the public and the county.

Work began on the playground and turf field portion of the project in the fall of 2011 and was completed in the Spring of 2012.

The Homesteaders’ Park project has added another beautiful and family-friendly recreational facility to Phillips County!
